Mirissa offers a lot to those needing to just escape. The town offers a quiet that you’d be hard pressed to find at any beach area along the southwest coast.

For that it is good. To sip a beverage, read a book and play in the rough waves. oh and cheap food that is tasty. they also have that.

Mirissa is where I temporarily (for half an hour or so) lost my glasses in the Indian Ocean and where I got 54 bug bites in 2 nights at the guest house we paid roughly 4USD per night to stay in.

The beach was good. The food was reasonable and the waves were big and strong and knocked us around like toys.

It was a bit eerily quiet at times but sometimes the silence can be comforting.
